Education and general well-being

The yoga, pranayama, meditation, resistance exercise, pool-based movement, movement review, and other wellness activities offered during Chann Jiva retreats are intended for education and general well-being. They are not medical diagnosis, medical treatment, physiotherapy, psychotherapy, or a substitute for care from a qualified healthcare professional. No specific health result is promised.

What a retreat theme means

References to the neck, shoulders, pelvic floor, reproductive health, chest, breast area, upper back, stress, hormones, or the nervous system describe the educational focus of a class or retreat. They are not a promise to prevent, diagnose, treat, cure, or improve any disease, injury, pain condition, hormonal condition, neurological condition, or other medical concern. Individual experiences vary.

Movement review at check-in

Any introductory movement review or screening exists to help the teaching team understand how you may work during the retreat. It does not provide a medical diagnosis or an individualised treatment plan, and it is not a clinical service.

Thai massage and other third-party services

Traditional Thai massage can be arranged with trusted independent local practitioners. It is not performed by Chann Jiva staff and is not part of the retreat price. Availability, location, duration, and payment are confirmed when requested. Any service provided by an independent practitioner is provided on that practitioner’s own terms.

Before you register

Please consult an appropriate healthcare professional before attending if you are pregnant, recovering from injury or surgery, experiencing active or unexplained pain, living with a medical condition, taking medication that may affect physical activity, or are unsure whether a practice is suitable for you.

During the retreat

You are responsible for deciding whether you are able to participate safely. Please:

  • tell the teaching team about relevant injuries, conditions, medications, pregnancy, or mobility limitations before you practise;
  • follow instructions and use the modifications you are given;
  • work within your own capacity rather than to the pace of the room;
  • stop immediately if you experience pain, dizziness, faintness, shortness of breath, numbness, weakness, or any other concerning symptom, and tell a teacher.

Emergency medical concerns require prompt professional care. Mahasarakham has hospital services; the farm is in a rural area and travel time to medical care should be taken into account when you plan.
